The Connecticut music community is rallying around Eran Troy Danner, the acclaimed blues guitarist and singer-songwriter, who remains in critical but stable condition following a devastating motorcycle accident in New York. Family, friends, fellow musicians, and fans continue to offer prayers and support as he undergoes extensive treatment at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, in Millerton, Dutchess County, New York. Danner was traveling by motorcycle when an oncoming passenger vehicle reportedly crossed into his lane, resulting in a head-on collision. Tragically, his riding companion was killed at the scene, while Danner sustained life-threatening injuries.
Emergency responders stabilized him before he was airlifted to Sharon Hospital, transferred to Vassar Hospital, and ultimately flown to Westchester Medical Center, a Level I trauma center, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Medical teams have performed multiple emergency surgeries to address extensive injuries suffered in the collision. According to updates shared by his family, Danner sustained numerous fractures and other catastrophic orthopedic injuries, requiring several reconstructive procedures and ongoing critical care. Physicians anticipate a lengthy recovery that will include additional surgeries followed by months of intensive rehabilitation.
Despite the severity of his injuries, loved ones remain hopeful as he continues to fight through each stage of recovery.
Known affectionately as ETD, Eran Troy Danner has been a respected figure in the New England blues scene for nearly three decades. Since beginning his professional career in 1998, he has earned widespread recognition for his soulful performances, exceptional guitar playing, and dedication to preserving the blues tradition. Throughout his career, he has performed more than 180 shows annually and shared stages with legendary artists including B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Walter Trout, Samantha Fish, Blues Traveler, and Eric Johanson.
His musical achievements include winning the Connecticut Blues Society Blues Challenge in both 2010 and 2025, as well as receiving recognition for his self-produced album Lucky Day. Beyond his accomplishments as a performer, friends and colleagues describe him as a generous mentor, passionate musician, and devoted father whose kindness has touched countless lives.
As a self-employed musician, Danner’s recovery is expected to create significant financial challenges. In response, his sister, Dana Fiebig, has organized an official GoFundMe campaign to help cover mounting medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, daily living needs, and to support his young son while he remains unable to perform.
