PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA — Family, friends, and the Pittsburgh community are mourning the tragic loss of Tristan Taylor, 18, who died following a shooting Tuesday night in the city’s East Hills neighborhood. His untimely passing has left loved ones heartbroken as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, officers from Zone 5 responded to reports of a shooting on Wilner Drive at approximately 9:50 p.m. Preliminary information indicates that an argument occurred outside before gunfire was reported.
When officers arrived, they found Tristan Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound. Police immediately began providing emergency medical aid while awaiting additional responders. Despite their lifesaving efforts, Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Tristan Taylor.
Pittsburgh Police Homicide detectives responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the investigation. Authorities continue to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and pursue investigative leads as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
